Tasting Notes

This is a lighter style red but still a full-bodied wine. The grapes are grown at a vineyard in the Swan Valley; just about a 10 minute drive north of the winery planted in 1955. The vines are over 50 years old and receive no irrigation resulting in a small, powerful berry. It is aged in 1-2 year old French oak barrels for 12 months. The bouquet is fragrant with red cherry, raspberry jubes and undertones of cedar and star anise. The palate is seamless and round packed with sweet fruit notes, aniseed completes the palate with a long lingering finish. This wine is incredibly versatile when paired with food.
